Jakob’s Issues Statement

"Illinois families deserve leaders who put the people first — not politics, not special interests, and not bureaucracy. I’m running to restore trust in government, strengthen our communities, and create real opportunities for residents across the state. Our communities face challenges, but with practical solutions and principled leadership, we can build a safer, stronger, and more prosperous Illinois for all."

Public Safety

Every family deserves to feel safe at home, at school, and in their neighborhoods. That starts with supporting law enforcement, ensuring officers have the resources they need, and holding repeat offenders accountable. I believe in practical reforms that strengthen community partnerships, reduce crime, and protect residents, while maintaining trust and accountability between citizens and law enforcement.

Thriving Economy & Small Business

Small businesses are the backbone of our communities, creating jobs and driving economic growth. I will fight to reduce excessive regulations, lower burdensome taxes, and provide resources to help entrepreneurs and family-owned businesses succeed. We will expand workforce development, vocational training, and apprenticeship programs so residents have access to meaningful work and pathways to prosperity. By encouraging innovation and investment, we can grow opportunity for families in every corner of Illinois — urban, suburban, and rural.

Education & Schools

Every child deserves access to a high-quality education in a safe and supportive environment. I support policies that empower parents, strengthen schools, and prepare students for real-world success — whether college, skilled trades, or careers in growing industries. Special education programs, mental health resources, and career technical education must be priorities, ensuring no child is left behind and every student has the tools to succeed.

Government Accountability & Transparency

Government should serve the people, not special interests or political agendas. I will fight for fiscal responsibility, transparent budgeting, and efficient government services. Public officials must be held to the highest ethical standards, and residents must have access to the information they need to hold leaders accountable. By eliminating waste, reducing bureaucracy, and prioritizing services that matter, we can restore trust and ensure government works for the people.

Putting People First

At the heart of my campaign is a simple principle: leadership must put people first. Families, workers, and communities should come before politics. Policies must be practical, commonsense, and designed to create opportunities, strengthen neighborhoods, and improve quality of life.

I’m running to give Illinois families a government they can trust, communities that are safe and thriving, schools that prepare our children for success, and an economy that rewards hard work and innovation. Together, we can build a stronger, safer, and more prosperous Illinois for all."
